5k Crate Runner Subscription Box Review

Disclaimer: I received a sample of the 5k Crate Runner Subscription Box  to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!

These days I think there’s a subscription box for everything: beauty, clothes, kids,  science for kids, dogs, cats, wine…you name it, there’s a subscription for it! I’ve seen several subscription boxes being advertised for runners as well. The reviews on some of them have not been too good. The boxes are often filled with random energy bars and gels and not much else. Well, this is NOT the case for 5k Crate. This box was crammed packed with some really, really cool runner gear.

First,  a little about 5k Crate. It’s a quarterly subscription service with each box designed specifically for runners. The subscription costs you $59.99 a quarter and they send you gear specified to your gender and size. You get 4 to 6 handpicked items each quarter and the shipping is free.

The gear in this quarter’s box did NOT disappoint. Inside the box there were:

  • A women’s Mission Vaporactive Alpha Short Sleeve V-neck T-Shirt – in my specified size. And in my favorite color…PINK! I really liked this shirt. It was moisture wicking, thin, and not too tight and clingy. I can see it becoming a repeat in my weekly running apparel.  (Value $25)
  • A Mission HydroActive Cooling Towel – I have a couple of these and they’re really nice on the hot, hot summer days we have in the South. (Value $10 – $15)
  • A pair of Zensah Peek Running Socks – Loved these! Such a cute color and great fit. Love Zensah’s products. (Value $14)
  • A pair of Spigen Wireless Bluetooth Headphones – Our team had mixed reviews on these but I honestly loved them. They fit well in my ears and didn’t pop out. They connected really easily to my iPhone and the battery life was pretty impressive. The sound quality was really great as well. I was very impressed by these headphones and they’re quickly turning into my new faves. (Value $27)
  • Two Epic Wipes – There’s a reason they market these as “The Massive Wet Wipe” because these things are HUGE! You can seriously wipe down your entire body with one huge wipe. It felt AMAZING after a hot, sweaty run. I used one right before I had to run to the grocery store after a run and I felt amazingly refreshed and not quite so stanky. I can see these being very versatile. (Value $5)
  • Two La Fresh Travel Lite Sunnyside Lotion Wipes – I threw one in my backpack and one in my purse for emergency sunblock if needed. They are each SPF 30. (Value $1)

As you can see there is well over $80 is merchandise and gear in the box and all of it is very relevant to any runner.  I liked everything that came in the box. You can get a little better view of everything in the box on my “unboxing” video below.

Adidas UltraBOOST X Review

Disclaimer: I received a sample of the adidas UltraBOOST X shoes to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!

Dear readers,

My name is Jen and I have a running shoe problem.

I love running shoes. Like, I LOVE, love them. I love trying out different shoes and learning all about the research and technology that goes into making a running shoes. I love all the technical data surrounding running shoes. I’m lucky in that I have a very neutral stride. I don’t over pronate or supinate. This allows me to try out all kinds of neutral running shoes without too much issue. I can switch shoes easily so long as they fit well.

A couple friends of mine had recently switched to the adidas running shoes and were raving about them. One of the ladies in my running group swears by them and trained for her first marathon in a pair of the UltraBOOST. So, needless to say, I was jumping for joy when I got the chance to test out the new adidas UltraBOOST X

One of the first things you notice about these shoes is the super cool colors. I fell in love with the “glow orange/core black” color. I mean, they just LOOK cool. I felt like my coolness factor shot up 100 points as soon as I put them on.

The second thing I noticed was how lightweight they were. They weigh about 8.3 oz. – lighter than the 9.0 oz some of my other shoes weigh. They are deceivingly much lighter than they appear. The adidas Primeknit upper and ultra lightweight boost cushioning help keep the ounces down.

I have a very narrow foot so I do need a shoe that isn’t too wide or else I feel like my foot is just flopping around in the shoe. The adidas Primeknit upper is almost like putting on a sock. It’s super stretchy and lightweight. It essentially hugs your foot when you put it on. There’s no tongue, no nasty seams to rub blisters, and no stiff back behind your heel. It’s all one big, stretchy foot hug.

One of the coolest things about this shoe is the adaptive arch. It’s hard to tell from my pictures but there is a sizable gap between the boost cushioning sole and the adidas Primeknit upper. The arch is designed to adapt to your foot to give you a better run. I could feel the arch support between the adidas Primeknit and laces hugging my foot.

The shoes are also outfitted with the boost cushioning. This cushioning is supposed to be responsive, meaning the more effort and energy you put in, the more it will give right back.

I definitely noticed that they were a little stiffer in the soles than some of my other running shoes. This took a little getting used to for me. After about 3 shorter distance runs in them I really, really started to like them and get used to them. The heel to toe drop was a little more than a lot of my other running shoes at 10 mm. I could feel the drop difference and stiffer sole definitely in the bottom of my feet after a longer run. On the shorter distance runs (3, 4 and 5 milers) I had zero issues. I would just have to ease into the longer distances in these shoes. I personally LOVED them for my short runs.

I loved how easy they were to get on and off with that stretchy, super comfy adidas Primeknit upper. No rubbing seams on my toes was a big, BIG plus in my book. My toes tend to curl up and I wear out the top of my shoes a lot.  I can see these lasting longer since they were so stretchy and adaptive to the way my foot fit in them.

Finding the right socks to go with them was a little trial and error too. They are low profile and to me, ankle socks just looked weird. I also felt that my normal, slightly padded socks just didn’t feel right in the shoe. They were almost too much sock for this shoe. I had to switch to a much thinner, lower profile sock and I was happy.

I’m really loving these shoes for all my shorter runs right now. I’m slowly breaking them in on some mid-distance runs (8ish + miles) and hope to work them up to a half marathon distance soon. In fact, I wore them to a recent 5k this weekend and took home 1st place in my age division!! They are absolutely some of the most responsive shoes I’ve ever worn. I really liked them and will definitely consider purchasing another pair once these wear out. They are a definite addition to the shoe rotation.

The new OOFOS OOmg Low Shoe – A Review

Disclaimer: I received a sample of the OOFOS OOmg Low Shoes to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

I’ve been a huge fan of the OOFOS sandals for a while now. I wear them constantly and they are so comforting to my feet after a long day of being in dress shoes or running the streets. When OOFOS released their first fully closed shoe – the OOmg Low I knew I had to try them out! All the benefits of the OOFOS sandal, with a closed toe?? YES PLEASE!

The first thing you notice about them is how lightweight they are. Nothing was lost when they added the closed top. It’s made of a breathable OOtex mesh upper with a 4-way stretch so your little toes are ensured lots of room to wiggle.

They’re made with the same OOFoam footbed that have made OOFOS so popular. The OOFoam technology absorbs 37% more impact than traditional shoe foam. This means less stress on your feet, back, and joints. This helps your body relax and recovery. They are soooo squishy and sooo comfy. Your feet seriously go “Ahhh” as soon as you put them on. It’s like walking on a bed of pillows.

The shoes are an investment, but they’re an investment in your body’s recovery. They’re made to last 6 month to a year, depending on amount of wear and usage. As with my OOFOS sandals, I get almost immediate relief from the minor heel pain I experience after hard runs, and I can really feel the pressure taken off of my sore joints and feet.

I wore these both with and without socks to test them out. Without socks my feet sweat just a tiny bit, but much, much less than I had suspected they would. They were totally comfortable and I experienced zero rubbing or blisters after wearing them most of the day running errands all over town. I also wore them with some little low ankle socks and I gotta say, I preferred no socks personally.

Definitely order a half size up. I usually wear an 8.5 in a running shoe. I was sent a size 9 and they fit perfectly. An 8  would have been too small. They paired really well with my flowy linen pants and some of my cute, casual knit skirts and t-shirts to run around town.

The shoes come in three fun colors and are totally machine washable. I highly recommend the OOFOS OOmg Low Shoes. Your feet deserve a little OOh-la-la and pampering. You won’t regret it.

BeachBody Performance Stack Review

***Disclaimer: I received a free sample of the Beachbody Performance Stack as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

I do a lot of shakes and smoothies for meals. I have a Nutri-bullet that I love and I throw the kitchen sink in there. I’m always looking to try out new supplements and proteins in my smoothies so I was super excited to try out Beachbody’s Performance Stack of exercise enhancers. The Performance Stack includes four different training formulas to be used at different times of excerice:

  • Recharge – to be used before
  • Hydrate – to be used during
  • Recover – to be used immediately after
  • Recharge – to be used at nighttime

All Beachbody products have been NSF-certified – meaning they have been tested to comply with the NSF’s banned substance standards.  You can learn more here.

ENERGIZE

Energize is designed to be used pre-workout. It’s supposed to help you focus and workout harder and longer. You are to mix one scoop with 8 oz of water 30 minutes before exercising.

It contains Beta-alanine to help reduce lactic acid build-up, Quercetin (a phytonutrient) to help delay fatigue, and a low dose of caffeine to help give you an energy boost. It is sweetened with Stevia. I found it pretty sweet with just 8 oz of water. I diluted it a bit more and found the lemony citrus taste very palatable.  Did I notice a big performance enhancement? Not really much more than my normal daily cup of coffee before a run. I would recommend this if you’re not a coffee drinker for a little pick-me-up before a workout.

HYDRATE

I really like Hydrate a lot. I’m always on the hunt for a good electrolyte replacement to use during my runs since I sweat so much.  I drank this during my longer runs and after to replenish my fluids and electrolytes. I get wicked headaches if I don’t replace my fluids after my runs and the smooth, citrus flavor of Hydrate helped me gulp down several glasses of water…and no headache! It also contains Quercetin to help endurance, various electrolytes, and low-dose carbs to help keep you going longer.

The taste was nice and mild. I don’t like an overpowering flavor or sweetness in my hydration. This stuff was perfect. Just a mild flavor that didn’t coat my tongue or give me any stomach distress. Good stuff.

RECOVER

The Recover formula is to be used within 30 minutes after your workout to help with muscle recovery and reduce muscle breakdown.  It’s comprised of pomegranate extract, 20 grams of protein, and branched-chain amino acids.

I drank this both straight with water and in a fruit smoothie. It was super easy to pour and mix in the nifty shaker bottle you get with the Beachbody Performance Stack. I found it to be a little sweet and chalky with a noticeable after taste. But hoestly, it was nothing different than most protein recovery drinks I’ve tried. I liked it much better blended into a smoothie. I really liked that it had 20 grams of protein per scoop. I usually drink my smoothies with almond or cashew milk, so I like to add a good protein in there for muscle recovery.

RECHARGE

Lastly in the Performance Stack is Recharge. This one was probably my second favorite. I loved the vanilla flavor. It was also pretty sweet and a little chalky by itself, but it blended superbly into my fruit blends and gave it a nice, creamy vanilla flavor.

Recharge is to be consumed about 1 hour before going to sleep. It’s supposed to help reduce DOMS and promote muscle recovery. I really liked that it has tart cherry extract. I drink tart cherry juice as an anti-inflammatory and for muscle recovery often, but it’s SUPER tart. This stuff tasted much better. And each scoop has an additional 20 grams of protein and more branched-chain amino acids to aid in muscle re-building.

You can get the whole Beachbody Performance Stack here and it starts out at $199.95. Beachbody backs their products with a 30 day money-back guarantee, so no harm, no foul if you want to try it out and don’t like it. Out of all of the products I would probably buy the Hydrate and the Recharge again

The Versatility of the UV Reflective Half BUFF®

Disclaimer: I received a UV Reflective Half BUFF® to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

I have so many running friends who are BUFF® fanatics. They love their BUFF®. But being a Southerner, it’s always so warm for us. I wasn’t sure I would use a full BUFF® very much. The opportunity popped up for us to try the UV Reflective Half BUFF® recently and I wanted to check out what all the fuss is about.

One of the first things I really liked about this Half BUFF® was that it has reflective print. This is all the rage right now in a lot of active wear and I LOVE it. I love, love that added safety feature. It lights up like a Christmas tree with the BUFF® logo and reflective stripes when you shine a light on it.

The half length was perfect for me. I could easily wrap it around my wrist for an nice little cloth to wipe away sweat on my brow and  hankie to wipe my nose. The thin, sweat-wicking material  was great when I used it as a headband on several runs. It kept the sweat from running in my eyes and was so lightweight I totally forgot I had it on.

Here is the description from the BUFF® website:

Half the length of original UV BUFF® headwear, the UV Reflective Half BUFF® option offers efficient thermal properties, built-in sun protection, moisture management and reflective strips that are ideal for runners. Able to dry quickly and control odor, this sweat-wicking layer fits easily under a helmet. It’s a versatile, go anywhere piece wearable at least nine different ways.

  • Blocks 95% of UV rays*
  • Reflective strips
  • Multifunctional
  • Exceptional Moisture-wicking with its 4-channel fibers
  • Soft, breathable Coolmax® Extreme fabric
  • Cool in the summer, extra layer of warmth in the winter
  • Polygiene® Active Odor Control
  • Quick drying

All of the above is totally accurate! I even used it at a recent race to keep my hands warm before the race start. It worked like a charm!

The BUFF® is so versatile. I have really enjoyed bringing it on my runs. I swear it’s the MacGyver of running gear. Every runner should have have one.

LEGEND® Compression Leg Sleeves Review

Disclaimer: I received a pair of the LEGEND® Compression Leg Sleeves to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

I swear by my compression gear. I collect compression socks and sleeves like some people collect rare coins. I LOVE my compression gear.

75404671

The first thing I noticed about the LEGEND® Compression Sleeves when I put them on is that they feel thinner than several other brands. They’re thinner, but they still offer an excellent amount of soothing compression. I wore these during several runs and after for recovery to test them out in both situations. I really, personally liked that they were thinner, especially for all of the warm, humid days we’ve been having. This also means these are going to be much more comfortable to use during our sweltering summer heat.

DCIM100GOPROG0260824.

LEGEND® sets itself apart with their background in medical compression therapy. The sleeves use medical grade graduated compression to help stabilize muscles and reduce soreness.

Some great things about LEGEND® Compression Sleeves:

  • Relieves shin splints, calf cramps and pulled muscles
  • 15-20 mmHg Graduated compression for increased athletic performance
  • Greater power output
  • Enhanced endurance
  • Increase oxygen levels and blood circulation
  • Reduced muscle fatigue, exertion and soreness
  • Faster recovery time
  • Promotes healing
  • Reduce vibration
  • Maximum blood flow for muscle performance
  • Reduction of lactic acid
  • Moisture wicking
  • Breathable, seamless construction for comfort
  • UV protection

I also really liked that they are MADE IN THE USA and LEGEND® values their quality assurance. They come in a wide variety of colors with a sleek, simple design that can be integrated into any training outfit.

Run Analysis with Therapydia NOLA

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary run analysis from Therapydia NOLA in exchange for this blog post. However, all views and opinions are my own.

IMG_0132

I recently had the opportunity to visit Therapydia NOLA and work with their wonderful physical therapist and Clinic Director, Jonathan Burke, DPT for a full Run Analysis. I’ve always, always wanted to do this but never knew where to go or even, what, exactly it entailed. During a previous interview with Jonathan I was able to ask him, “What exactly IS a run analysis?”

“A run analysis is a screening specifically designed to apply to running mechanics. A physical therapist will put markers on you and you’ll run naturally while they observe and take a recording. Afterwards, they’ll use a video analysis coupled with a movement assessment to look at your angles and how you move through the 4 phases of running. We can identify any joint and soft tissue restrictions as well as strength and motor control deficits. The goal is to see how joints across your body move through their necessary ranges of motion and see what injuries you might be at risk for. It’s not just about how your feet hit the ground—your knee, pelvic, and trunk positioning all come into play to when considering your gait. It’s all about getting you to train correctly so your body processes force efficiently as you run. That way, you can prevent future injuries you’re at risk for and prevent joint and muscle overuse.”

img_0141-1.jpg

The Run Analysis first started with a full exam to determine strength, flexibility, and body movement patterns. This was very similar to a physical therapy exam you may encounter on your first visit if you’ve suffered an injury. You lay down or sit on the exam table while the therapist puts you through a round of stretches and body movements (squats, side twists, leg raises, hamstring stretches, etc.). At this point, they are evaluating for any weaknesses or pain points you may be experiencing.

I knew my right side was weak due to a past knee injury. I favor that knee a lot and it manifests in a weaker quad. But I’ve been having some hip pain in my left hip flexor as well as tightness in my right back shoulder (from carrying a 30 lb child on my right hip all the time). Jonathan found those immediately and saw the limited range of motion in my trunk (due to the shoulder) and hip.

Next was the treadmill! He placed several blue dots on my right shoe, knee and hip. These were markers for the software to pick up and follow while I was running. He set up the iPad to record my stride as I ran and told me to start up the treadmill slowly and crank it up to a comfortable pace. He recorded my stride for a few minutes from the right side and then the rear.

run-analysis-new-orleans-metairie-470x601.png

I relaxed for several minutes after while Jonathan reviewed the software and wrote up my Run Analysis. You get a nice one-page report analyzing the various phases of a run stride: ankle dorsiflexion, hip flexion, trunk flexion, knee flexion, toe off and contact. Here’s what the analysis told me:

  • I’m a heel striker – yeah, a big one. Ha.
  • My trunk flexion is -2.79°  to 4.12° through all phases when it should be at least 10°. This means that I’m standing up WAY too straight and upright when I run. I need to work on leaning forward more, which takes more stress off my knees and will help promote forefoot striking.
  • My knee flexion is a little below ideal at 37.73°. Ideal is 40°. I’m a foot shuffler and need to work on picking up my heels more.
  • Hip flexion fell a little short before contact, again indicating shuffling, heel striker.

trunk-lean

For a data geek like me the analysis was SO COOL! So much to look at and take in. But Jonathan didn’t leave it at that. He showed me all the good things I was doing too and gave me recommendations to increase glute strength (they were found to be really weak during the initial analysis too) and work on activation exercises to improve stability and motor control. He walked me through a handful of exercises to do at home and printed them out for me to take and work on.

I really learned a lot with this run analysis. I’ve been more conscious about my form on recent runs and have been working on several of the things that Jonathan found: leaning forward, picking up my feet, shortening my stride. I’ve also been doing the exercises he gave me at home several times a week as well as adding plank sessions to build up my core strength.

I highly  recommend setting up an appointment with the folks at Therapydia NOLA for a Run Analysis. It was such an interesting, LEARNING experience. I can only come out of this a better runner.

Therapydia NOLA is located at 2701 Airline Drive, Suite L in Metairie, Louisiana. You can call them at (504) 507-9375 or email them at hello@therapydianola.com to set up an appointment.

Feeling the “OO” with OOFOS

Disclaimer: I received a sample of the OOFOS Ooriginal Sport Sandal to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

I have heard many runners and triathletes talk about OOFOS sandals for a while now. I’ve been really curious about them and even checked them out at a few expos. Now that I’ve had an opportunity to try them out through BibRave I can honestly say I’m on the “OO” wagon. You could even say I’m not OObsessed! 🙂 These things are like magic. I’ve had them about a month now and I’m practically living in them when I’m not wearing running shoes.

These sandals are made with the specially engineered OOfoam footbed that have made OOFOS so popular. They are soooo squishy and sooo comfy. Your feet seriously go “Ahhh” as soon as you put them on. It’s like walking on a bed of pillows. And the pillows don’t compress. They STAY FLUFFY and SQUISHY all day!

The technology behind the OOfoam allows the foam to absorb 37% more impact than traditional shoes, reducing the stress on your feet and body. This helps your joints and feet rest, relax, and recover. They also provide superior arch support and just really cradle your feet.

I keep mine by the front door and wear them heading out for errands and I throw them in my car to slip on right after a run. I’ve been dealing with a nagging heel (early plantars I’m afraid). I swear, wearing these sandals has really helped with that initial “just got out of bed”heel pain. I slip them on for a few minutes and my heel stretches out and relaxes.

20160805_111516.jpg

I’m totally kicking myself now. Why, WHY didn’t I get a pair of these sooner?? Living in South Louisiana I can practically wear these things year round! And I’m sure I will. They come in a nice variety of colors and styles too. There are several sport slide styles as well as some clogs that would be perfect for more of a work appropriate shoe.

I highly recommend the OOFOS OOriginal Sport Sandal. Your feet deserve a little OOh-la-la and pampering. You won’t regret it.

Review of the XX2i Australia1 Polaraized Sport Sunglasses

Disclaimer: I received a sample of the XX2i Australia1 Polarized Sport Sunglasses to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

It’s time for another XX2i sunglasses review! This time I got to try out the new Australia1 Polarized Sport Sunglasses.

2016-08-14-07.13.41.jpg.jpg

I gotta say, these are probably my favorite XX2i sunglasses so far. They are so lightweight and comfortable. It’s been raining like crazy here in Louisiana this past month and rain + heat = mega humidity and mega sweat. They’ve survived through all of that without budging. They didn’t slip down my face at all when I was completely drenched during my run. The nose grips kept the glasses in place but were still very comfortable.

20160813_103917.jpg

And the lenses on these glasses are superb! They come with polarized lenses with 8K optical technology. The wraparound style fits my face really well. My eyes are very sensitive to the sunlight but when I put these sunglasses on they just go “Ahhhhhh!” Everything is so crystal clear, you can say “buh-bye” to the glaring sunlight.

20160726_103352.jpg

One of the cool things about the Australia1 lenses is they come with a removable padded insert. It snaps in easily for extra protection from wind, rain, dirt, etc. if you’re going to play extra hard. I slipped them on with the extra padding and it was really comfortable. It made them fit my face more snugly and I could feel the padding create a nice seal around my eyes.

20160810_130957.jpg

20160810_130918.jpg

As with any XX2i sunglasses they came with a hard zipper case, a soft cloth case that can be used to polish the lenses, and a sport strap you can place on the ear pieces.

Some other great things about ANY sunglasses you purchase from xx2i Optics:

  • Sunglasses come with a LIFETIME replacement warranty on the lenses and frames!
  • They have a 365 hassle free return policy. That’s right, you have a FULL YEAR to try them out and return them if you don’t like them for any reason.
  • Shipping is always free to the U.S.

If you’re interested in trying out a pair of the NEW Australia1 style or any other XX2i sunglasses you can get them for 50% right now with the Bibrave code XX2iRocks! To find out more about the Australia1 casual sunglasses or any of their other sport sunglasses, go to xx2i.com.

Staying hydrated with Ultima Replenisher™

Disclaimer: I received a sample of Ultima Replenisher ™ to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

img_20160728_141455.jpg

Summers in south Louisiana are brutal. The humidity regularly stays above 80% and the heat index is at least 10 degrees higher than the actual temperature. So, that 96° temp actually feels like 106°. Running and training in the summer is tough. It’s hot. Your pace slows a lot. You routinely sweat 2 to 3 lbs. of water weight off during a run. I am a sopping wet mess after a simple 3 miler. With the heat and added loss of fluids through sweat, hydration and electrolyte replenishing become extra important.

This is precisely why I was really excited to try out the Ultima Replenisher™ Electrolyte Powders.

20160721_120933.jpg

Ultima Replenisher™ was founded by a nutritionist and long distance runner and was created for the USTF athletes for the 1996 Olympic Games. The combination of electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals was essential in keeping the runners hydrated and aiding performance.

Ultima Replenisher™ Electrolyte Powders are:

  • vegan,
  • gluten-free,
  • contain no processed sugar,
  • carb-free,
  • zero calorie,
  • contain no artifical flavors or sweeteners,
  • caffiene-free, and
  • made with plant-based colors and real fruit flavors.

The powders are sweetened with stevia leaf. Compared to other sugar laden sport drinks, Ultima Replenisher™ has 3x more potassium, zero sugar, and five other electrolytes and support minerals that are key to performance and hydration: magnesium, chloride, calcium, selenium, phosphorus, and zinc. Replenisher™ also has 167% of your % daily value of Vitamin C in each serving. It’s almost like drinking a multi-vitamin!

What I noticed immediately about the powders is the flavor. These drinks TASTE GREAT. Really. I didn’t notice any of the strange aftertaste you experience in some sugar-free drinks. I tried several different flavors out and really enjoyed every one of them. My only issue is the full scoop was a little sweet for me. I like my water flavored subtly. Cutting the scoop in half was perfect for me. But my husband and kids liked the full scoop flavor better.

20160709_144013.jpg

The powders come in two sizes of bulk tubs: a 90 serving and smaller 30 serving canister. You can also get the stick packs (shown above) which are great for on-the-go and travel. I keep a couple of the sticks in my purse for work and in my hydration vest to put back in my water as I drain it repeatedly on my longer runs. The individual serving size package makes them really convenient.

20160711_092018.jpg

My whole family loves these powders. I even bought the toddler formula for my kids to get them away from the sugary sport drinks. They love it! They love making their “berry drink” themselves. I’ve actually been drinking a lot more water because of it. The great taste makes it so much easier to get in my water consumption for the day. Before I know it, I’ve downed 80 oz!

I highly recommend trying out the Ultima Replenisher™ Electrolyte Powders. Ultima Replenisher™ and BibRave have partnered to offer a great discount code.

You can receive 35% off your order plus FREE shipping with the code BIBRAVE2016!!

I’ve already used that code twice to re-order. Ha! Guess I’m kinda obsessed with the stuff.
